Well they never 100% went away, Back when i ran bsx-world and was MCing the MBUK biker-x events etc in the early 2000's Revell bikes were the bomb, Since then the mtb brand has took a step back as Anthony built up his bmx brand stolen, Now Revell bikes are back and now with some solid completes in 24" and 26". Distros the key for a bike brand and they have that all sorted thanks to split and customers have it @ there fingers now that you can get hold of both its complete bikes and parts at CRC http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Brands.aspx?BrandID=676
